Online Counseling throughout North Carolina
Hi, I'm Latoya Toller, Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and National Board-Certified Counselor based in Wake Forest, North Carolina. I've earned a MA in Community Counseling, as well as a BA in Psychology: Mental Health. It's been my passion to support client wellbeing through counseling experience in private practice, outpatient programs, also partial and inpatient hospital settings over the past 20+ years. I'm a helper. I care deeply about helping clients at various stages of life create solutions. My therapeutic focus encourages the processing of your feelings around anxiety, obsessive thoughts, losses and grief, relationship and parenting concerns, depression, and trauma, while also providing evidence-based tools that support your healing, growth, and empowerment. I've been honored to work with many clients who've made the commitment needed to set goals, take action, and accomplish healthy outcomes that transform their lives.
Some life events can be unpredictable, confusing, and very painful. If you're ready to explore your experiences at a deeper level, remove barriers, and gain clarity to take and continue steps forward, you won't be alone. I'll walk with you. For all of us, wellness builds with a holistic or "whole" person approach that connects the way we think, feel, and live. By being aware of our needs, and taking action to fulfill them, we can build lives that are balanced, and at best, honest. A holistic lifestyle helps us to stop living our lives in pieces, restoring hope when we're vulnerable and hurt.

Like our experiences, my approach is layered. As a care professional, I recognize undeniable needs for advocacy and support as well as the necessity for warmth and direct communication. I work often with health care professionals, caregivers, therapists, and educators. I'm a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional, a Certified Advanced Grief Counseling Specialist, and also hold a Child Welfare Specialization as part of my advanced study which supports my work with parents. I have specialized training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with Exposure Response Prevention (ERP), Mindfulness Based, Attachment Based, Emotionally Focused Couples, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapies, and integrate these strategies as appropriate.
As a Prepare/Enrich Facilitator my specialty also includes couples counseling. Prepare/Enrich is a highly reliable structured research-based program for committed engaged and married couples. Prepare/Enrich utilizes a short-term therapy approach, while providing the benefits of positive solutions and long-term relational change. It includes assessments developed to identify strengths and areas for growth with communication and active listening, conflict resolution, managing finances, parenting styles, family/ friends, goals, and values.
During our work together, I encourage you to live your life with intention by learning what works for YOU and living that truth. As you share your story, I'll listen. We'll explore your experience, and together we can seek to understand, identifying new strategies for growth, while also developing positive practices that benefit your life.
